John Miller
If money was not a factor what would you build and why?
A custom home for my children in the rocky mountain area, west of C470 or in the Platte Canyon area. Large beam and deck home that would integrate with nature. Not only would this provide the opportunity to share it with my kids and grandkids but offer a legacy for our generations to come. I have been fortunate in my life and wish to share those blessings with others.
What do you work toward in your free time?
As the most senior member of this nested team (in age and experience) my free time is both enriching and filled with challenges. Having said that, my number one love is my family. Taking the time for quality interactions and encouraging new adventures among all of us is a priority. Secondly, I have a passion for both humans and animals in need. I am involved with family promise at our church to support the homeless and with Harbor Lab Rescue to find “forever homes” for these magnificent animals. I am both an avid reader of about a book every week and have a passion for yard work, hunting and sci-fi movies. I have always felt that learning is a life long journey.
What’s the most interesting thing about you we would not learn from your resume?
I played semi pro baseball in Ravenna, Italy in 1971. I was a pitcher known by my Italian name Giovanni. Which gave me the unique opportunity to interact with Italians on a cultural level.
